Taupe works well with a variety of accent colors balanced as it is between tan and gray. A soft yellow door and matching curtains on the front porch add a pinch of bright color to the mix. They are adorable and make me happy. I like that touch to maintain the uniform look.

Pairing the taupe with brick red shutters adds personality while still keeping a classic and overall neutral appearance for the home. I think this little house is darling but would prefer to see a more saturated yellow to match the intensity of the blue exterior.
